Cheerful sunlit skies gently bask a delicate verdant landscape with accents and shadows while pinkish etherial clouds slowly inch across the distant horizon.
 

A foursome of curiously pink parakeets playfully return your gaze in a sense of heightened anticipation and curiosity.  In mythology, parakeets are renowned as birds of the sun. Their bright colors together with the sunshine aspect are what gives them their magic.

A joyful and serene landscape with richly fertile soils and verdant rolling hills giving way to a distant bank of fields under a blue sunlit sky punctuated with gentle soft-gray clouds.

From the secure vantage point on the golden orange sands of a secluded beach, the seascape expanse opens with translucent waves quietly cresting in their approach.  On the distant horizon, clouds slowly begin to gather, suggesting a sense of mystery and change.
 

Originally established as a crude fort in 1699 near the mouth of the Mississippi, the name "Plaquemines" was a Gallicization of a Native American word for the many nearby "persimmon" trees.
The inhabitants of Plaquemines are stubborn and tough.
Having weathered many wars, hurricanes, and landscape changes from shifting tides, sandbars, and marshes—the Parish strongly adheres to its deep French roots.
This composition captures this heritage and the primordial beauty of Louisiana wetlands against blue skies and silver-tipped clouds.

This striking seascape records the rugged natural beauty of Puget Sound—unquestionably North America’s most pristine estuary. The Sound was discovered in 1792 by George Vancouver and named after Peter Puget, a French Huguenot who became an officer in the British Royal Navy. It is the result of the melting retreat of the 6,000 foot thick Vashon Glaciation about 15,000 years ago.
This composition captures the striking colors, rocky jetties, swift currents, and dramatic vistas that characterize Puget Sound.

This composition embodies the old adage “Pink sky at night… sailors delight; Pink sky at morning… sailors take warning!” But, at the same time it, provokes the question whether tranquility or turbulence are rising on the tide.
 

 

 

 

 

Three regal hummingbirds gently hover in a pageant of elegance.  Hummingbirds communicate with one another by making visual displays.  Females favor “shuttle flights” with rapid back and forth movements, while only males exhibit “dive displays” featuring U-shaped arc trajectories, diving, buzzing, whistling and popping.
The rich color pallet is drawn from royal Tudor heraldics featuring rondeau blue, scarlet red, and  alluvian gold, set against a warm sandstone background.

Hummingbirds are known to symbolize eternity, continuity, and infinity as the fluttering wings of the hummingbird move in the pattern of an infinity symbol.
These extraordinary creatures constantly feed and visit up to 2,000 flowers per day with their long bills in search of sugary nectar. They are also migratory birds and can fly over 500 miles in a day.
This work portrays hummingbird featured characteristics of movement, the search for nourishment and dashing colors.
